Texas-Sized Love {Laura & Damond's Houston Engagement}

I had the pleasure of meeting Laura for the first time over drinks & appetizers at Papasito's. We had an easy conversation about her family, her travels and her wedding plans. It was almost like catching up with an old friend.

Even though our initial date for Laura & Damond's engagement session got rescheduled due to rain, we had a blast. Damond tried to tell me he wasn't to into taking photos, but by the end of the session, he was the one coming up with shot ideas! Nice work, Damond!








It was a typical HOT Houston day, so we decided to stop for some frozen yogurt before heading back to the house for a quick outfit change.



Both Laura & Damond are huge Texans fans, so it was only appropriate that they wanted to wear their jerseys for a portion of their session. Such a cute idea.

Love is in the Air {Elena & Ian}

From the archives...

Genuine. Caring. A true friend. This is my unofficial definition of Elena (though I may submit it to Webster to see if we can make it official). We met at work, became friends over many, many burrito bowls (thanks, Chipotle), and have "grown up" together photographically. Now, I am proud to say that I've had the distinct pleasure of photographing beautiful moments in her journey from Perez to McLaughlin.



Elena informed me that Ian had previously taken flight lessons, and with that notion, a theme was born. We decided to begin Elena & Ian's engagement session on the tarmac of the West Houston Airport.








This is what happiness looks like. They wear the glow well, don't they?






After we left the airport, we stopped by a cute little spot that was perfect for a picnic.







Max Muller said, "A flower cannot blossom without sunshine, and a man cannot live without love." Elena & Ian, may you live the rest of your lives truly and fully in love.

Long Distance Love

Love sometimes has a mind of its own. It does not care about preference or convenience. It gives no attention to minute details, when the grande scheme is considered. Once it grabs hold, distance does not matter. Kim & Will's relationship has blossomed with hundreds of miles separating them. Their patience and endurance will soon reap a harvest of love when they get married in Texas, and begin a new chapter of their journey living in Nebraska.

Once Kim & Will agreed to a themed Engagement Session, the wheels began to turn for me. I LOVE thinking outside the box and letting creativity reign. "Long Distance Love" ruled the day.






To add a little touch of romance that would give them something special to hang on to at the end of the session, I asked Kim & Will to write a little note to each other to be opened later.



I truly enjoyed getting to know these beautiful people a little better. The way they love is a wonderful thing to behold. Hearing stories of their frequent travel and Skype conversations reminded me how strong and stubborn real love is. When it is meant to be, when it is true, it will be. And it will be lovely.

Ten Years of Love

When Carla contacted me and told me that she wanted to document her and Anthony's 10 year anniversary by scheduling a session, I was more than thrilled. These two have built a relationship that many dream of. You can feel the mutual love & respect from miles away. It's becoming a rarity to find a couple that is so willing to help and empower those around them. But when you do find it, it's a beautiful thing. And these are beautiful people.

Now although Carla & Anthony are perfectly fascinating people...I was happy they brought their daughter Heather along with them. This little lady is just that...a mini lady. We had conversations about lip gloss and nail polish among other things. She had some great ideas about how she should pose during the session. Plus she helped me keep Mommy & Daddy "in line." (wink) It was fantastic.





So, to Carla, Anthony and Miss Heather...thanks so much for hanging out with me. I had a blast and hope you walked away with a positive & memorable experience. You guys are beautiful...inside and out.
