Petite Sessions are Back at Papillon!

September is a remarkable month for me each year. It's a beginning and an ending in the same breath. It's a second chance, a fresh start. It's a time for reflection and forward thinking. My kids make their way back to school, leaving more time for me to dream the dreams of a grown woman's heart.

Papillon Presents: Back to School Petite Sessions

The beginning of a brand new school year is just around the corner. My two big munchkins have excitedly filled their backpacks with school supplies in anticipation of their first day as 4th and 2nd graders. I look at them with hazy eyes wondering where the time went. The older they become, the more quickly the years seem to pass. The importance of seeing them as they are now...the importance of freezing these fleeting moments is almost tangible.

This year, instead of seeing ketchup stains on your prince's shirt & grass blades intertwined in your princess's braids thinking, "Why do they schedule school pictures after lunch & recess?" Instead of feeling obligated to purchase standard school photos only for the sake of documenting the school year, Papillon offers a different option:

Meet Me In St. Louis

What a beautiful day it is today! The sun is shining, a cool breeze is blowing, and my heart is still...granting me a moment to reflect on how grateful I am for the gift of life. "Live in Love" - it's a lifestyle that I'm embracing with every fiber of my being. I hope you are, too.

A Mother's Love for Her Daughter

The relationship between a mother and her daughter is constantly evolving. The early years are full of hope & wonder, as Mama is the portrait of perfection and infinite possibilities are contained within the innocent gaze of sweet Baby Girl.

As the sands of time spill away, these two female forces, once so closely intertwined, begin to pull in opposing directions. Baby Girl becomes a woman in spite of Mama's desperate attempts to cling to her baby.

The latter years bring with them appreciation, understanding and a beautiful friendship, when motherhood offers Baby Girl a brand new perspective.





I am creating a promotional Photo Book that showcases the beautiful relationships that mothers and daughters share and am looking for a few willing models to participate. The Mothers & Daughters shoot will take place on Saturday, December 4, 2010, from 10am-12pm. Participants will hang out with me at my home, enjoy some light refreshments, sit for a few photos with their moms/daughters to be featured in the photo book and walk away with a special gift from Papillon.
